Ian Margrave

Growing up on two wheels in Lubbock, Texas, Ian didn’t fully realize the impact of bikes until he got into competitive cycling while attending Texas A&M in the early 2000’s.  He spent the next decade wandering the southwest U.S. as a shop wrench, USAC mechanic, and single speed racer. Settling down in Amarillo in 2010, Ian plugged into the local mountain bike community to help spread the joy of trail riding.  In 2013 he started Amarillo’s first NICA high school team, now one of the largest teams in Texas.

Upon turning 30, Ian decided it was time for a career change and with the help of some paramedic friends (fellow MTBers), got his EMT license and went to work in rural EMS. In November of 2018 he began his rookie year with the fire department and is stoked to combine his interest in public service with his passion for mountain biking.
